Sometimes We All Need Gluten Free “Fast Food”

I don’t eat at traditional “fast food” restaurants; and, most likely, if you follow my blog, you don’t either. Therefore, “fast food” or quick meals are essential.  Now, all my recipes tend to be simple, but this one tops the cake in resembling traditional “fast food.”

Here, I wanted to prepare a gluten free (and allergy friendly) meal that was both quick to prepare and similar to a traditional “fast food,” such as a hamburger and fries.  The fries were simple.  While I make my own baked sweet potato fries, Ore Ida’s (frozen) fries are gluten free in the U.S., which is much more like fast food! Check out this list to see which fries are certified gluten free. (They do place a warning on their site for those who are highly sensitive, but I’ve never had a problem).

But, what about the hamburger? To make a quick and easy meal, we used Simply Organic’s sloppy joe seasoning.  Not only is Simply Organic’s seasoning gluten free, but it’s vegan, meaning it’s free of traces of dairy and egg as well.  The mix provides great taste, and you don’t need to mix the spices yourself!

While it’s not quite the traditional burger and  fries, this quick meal is difficult to mess up and reminiscent of “fast food” as well.  As always, happy cooking, and quick fixings!

    1. Thanks! I was very excited about the Simply Organic Mix. And, oh yes, the bars! One of my next projects is to make some of my own to store as well 🙂
